never thought i'd be blogging...not really hip or cool enough to blog--or creative enough. i've read some of my friends blogs and wow - like my friend beka, she is an awesome writer. not putting myself down, but i really suck in comparison...
for the record - along with being a husband and a daddy (seriously, i live in the house with some absolutely gorgeous girls), i'm a worship leader and an ex-youth pastor...and, without a doubt, i am the token black guy...i was trying to think of a name for my blog, and that was the first thing that came to mind, but i decided not to use it...my friend lucas calls me token all the time, because that's what I am...a black guy surrounded by white people--lots and lots of white people...i mean, my wife is even white...
this blog will probably have nothing to do with racial issues or political correctness or anything trendy, but will have a lot to do with my family and the crazy things that are happening...i'll probably be blogging a lot about my thoughts on worship and being a worship leader...i love what i'm doing...i get paid to do what i love, but there are days when life as a worship guy just doesn't make sense...i have lots of questions about what i'm supposed to be doing and if i'm actually making a difference...for God's kingdom...
so...am i making a difference?

Yes, token, you are making a difference. You have made a huge difference in my life as both a friend and a pastor. You know that verse in hebrews that says "Do not forsake the fellowship but keep meeting together...spur each other on to love and good deeds" (or something about like that)...that's what you do. Iron sharpening iron, thinking, questioning, searching, never resting with what you have, always looking for something more. That's what my journey is like and it is nice (to say the least) to have one more person who spurs me on, who questions with me, who makes me think and dig and discover more and more about God. Are you making a difference? In the same way that a rock thrown in the still water makes ripples...
